Don't be a Nub, try Spaghetti Tacos...

Several weeks ago I ran a feature about the Spaghetti Tacos I created for my girls, inspired by their favorite Nickelodeon television show, iCarly.  Well, the show had its season premier just before school started, and to celebrate the end of summer and to round up some of the kids' friends, we decided to put together a low-key iCarly premier party.  I'm not talking party favors, decorations and a disco ball, here ~ just a simple dinner and show.  IF THERE'S ONE LESSON I'VE LEARNED (THE HARD WAY) OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS, IT'S THAT IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE OVER-THE-TOP.

In this event, simplicity was the key to its success:  The kids arrived around 6:00 p.m., enjoyed building their own Spaghetti Tacos, then watched the premier at 7:00 p.m.

Bobbie over at A VISION TO REMEMBER is running a 30 Day Food Challenge this month, and I'm honored to have had my Spaghetti Tacos included in her menu of fabulous recipes!  Stop by, check out my irreverent, but delicious recipe (it's like spaghetti and italian sausage wrapped in garlic bread ~ yummmm....) and see what other culinary magic she's cookin' up!

If you haven't voted yet in the DIY CLUB August Craft Contest, I'd be honored to get your vote.  It takes only seconds (I promise) and doesn't require any personal info or registration.

My entry is the "Friendship Cup/Plate"

Thanks for your support!

Ok, not having kids, I am not very familiar with iCarly although my nieces watch it at my house the rare times they come to visit. This seems like a very interesting recipe. :) And I am so going to give it a try just to say that I've tried it. Ok...I am dying with curiosity to see how it tastes. By the way thanks for stopping by and becoming a follower!

This sounds like so much fun! You have the best ideas. I would never come up with such a fun idea.

I can't say that I've ever watched iCarly, but these do look good! Messy, but lots of fun! Would it be back for anyone over the age of 12 to eat these? I think I'd like them! : )

I'm so glad you visited me! I've heard of these spaghetti tacos, but I didn't realize they were and iCArly thing. My kids love that show, and would think I'm so cool if I made these!

Thanks for your comment on the Carmelia recipe too. I don't mind people sharing what they didn't like about a recipe, but like you, I was annoyed by it being anonymous. I actually don't allow anonymous comments anymore so if someone wants to criticize, they'll have the nerve to identify themselves!

Now, I need to go find your recipe for the beef you use in gyros, since my hubby prefers that to chicken.

Guess what we had for diner tonight...spaghetti tacos! Both kiddos devoured them! I did not make my own tortillas tonight but fried the corn ones with some butter and garlic to make them taste spaghetti taco worthy!

Hi Jenn! Thanks for stopping by my blog. For some reason your comment went into my spam folder so it took a couple days for me to see it.

Love your blog - spaghetti tacos - that's awesome. And I saw your post about the homemade graham crackers/smores kits. Got to love that. I wrote about Kara's Cupcakes and their awesome S'mores cupcake. You would probably love it - graham cracker at the bottom, then chocolate cake, topped with toasted marshmallow frosting.

Plan to follow you and pick up some more fun recipe ideas! And do check out the Grand Velas - it really was a special place.

That was a great Ideal. I bet the girls really enjoyed themselves. This is a real concept I try to focus on at Empowered Peace. God Bless You and I hope you get everything ready for the beginning of school that is on your list.

Stranged how all my boys love iCarly - or not love but watch. Well, half love tacos and all love spaghetti - maybe I will surprise them Monday night! However - I want to know - soft shell or crunchy? I think my boys would want you to cook for them:)

Lol, I have to try this JUST to try it. Loved the pictures of the girls, what a great and simple idea, they'll probably never forget it. Or the 'tacos!' =)
